Canadian artist Maskull Lasserre is renowned for creating art pieces that showcase tension, and his latest artistic endeavour is the perfect example of this.
Titled Schrodinger’s Wood, the piece explores physical tension as it features the trunk of an Ash Tree carved with a rope unravelling at the centre. Nothing screams “suspense” like a large trunk held together simply by its centre while fraying from the weight of itself (Talk about an ab workout). The rope seems to be barely holding itself together, but the piece works in helping to create the metaphorical tension that the artist seemed to be striving for.
