Imagine giving into your wanderlust; travelling the world as you meet interesting people while soaking up the rays of sunshine on a new beach every few days – this is what dreams are made of, and Faye Halliday is living ours. The talented visual artist left the comfort of her UK home to explore the beauty that the world had to offer, embarking on a travelling project titled: “Haathi”. Halliday was inspired to celebrate the beauty of animals through her art after witnessing the Elephant Festival in Jaipur, India, where elephants are honoured and painted with breathtakingly intricate and beautiful patterns.
Those complex and beautiful patterns are now the foundation for her drawings as she transforms animals into mesmerising creatures created through the combination of line and shade. Halliday’s inspirational project has seen her travel to numerous tropical destinations around the world, including the beautiful African Island – Seychelles. Halliday’s works are simply enthralling, with a few of her images looking as if they’ve been taken straight from our dreams.
